October

The fourth grade has been very busy preparing their December Kidsday issue.   The children were very excited when the Newsday representative arrived with bundles of toys.   Each child took one or two toys home to play with and to review.   Their holiday gift guide will be printed in Newsday in the beginning of December.

On Friday October 3, two fourth students had the opportunity to interview Giada De Laurentiis- the celebrity chef and author. They met with her at Borders Books in Syosset where she was signing copies of her new book.   Look for their interview in an upcoming issue of Newsday!

We are planning two Social Studies field trips for November.   We will be visiting the State University at Stony Brook for a workshop on Native Americans.   We were also invited to take a tour of Oheka Castle, a fine example of a Long Island Gold Coast estate.
