Welcome to Pre-K!
We are so happy to have you in our classroom. Our fun-filled day will include morning circle time, prayer and story, an arts and crafts project, we will work on our all-important numbers and letters, center time (free play), prayer and snack time, and pack-up time.  Enjoy your day!

PRE-K NEWS
MAY/JUNE, 2008
We are discovering that God’s gifts of soil, water, air and light help tine seeds grow into plants. The children are sharing in the awareness that growth and change in nature are part of God’s plan.

Colors: Mixing and blending colors to make pastels

Holidays: Ascension Thursday, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day

Science/Social Studies: Seeds and plants, community helpers,
Butterfly watching

Math: Counting, writing numbers

Literacy: Letter/sound correspondence. Plus stories, poems and journals

Religion: Seeds - Gospel stories. Celebrating new life, celebrating Mary, Jesus’ mother

We will be celebrating our summer birthdays in May and June. Please check the snack calendar for your child’s special day.

What’s Happening in May and June

Sports Day: Monday, May 19th (rain date - Fri., May 23rd) The children will be participating in many fun events such as: dress-up relay, hippity hop race and many more. Please wear your sneakers.

Graduation: Wednesday, June 4th
Please bring your child to the classroom at 9:30 sharp. Our ceremony and party will be held in the cafeteria from 9:45 to 11:00. Everyone is welcome! The children will be dismissed at 11:00 after the party.

Pre-K Picnic: Friday, June 6th
The children will arrive in the classroom at their usual time of 9:30 and then we will bring them out to the church lawn by 9:45. We will have a fun morning of games, activities and a little picnic. Please pack a picnic lunch for your child and yourself if you are attending. Parents’ attendance is optional. Please have your child wear his or her St. Edward tee shirt (information will be sent home soon regarding ordering of tee shirts). Dismissal will be the usual 12:30 unless you choose to leave earlier with your child after the picnic.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for all your help and support throughout the year and for sharing your wonderful children with us. We were truly blessed with an amazing class and we will miss each and every one of them.

Special thanks go to our class mothers Alli Cava and Sharon Lane for all their hard work during the year, and to Mr. and Mrs. Pavese for putting together our yearbook, and our graduation slide show.
