The Supermarket Dollar Program is designed to contribute funds to the tuition of St. Edward the Confessor School. The School’s annual tuition is based on four parts: the annual contribution from the Parish, fund raising, the Supermarket Dollar Fund, and tuition charge. From the sale of each Supermarket Dollar card sold, 5% goes directly to the Fund and is carefully monitored by the President of the School Board, Don MacAvoy. In addition, Co-Chair Allison MacAvoy handles all the orders for the School and Parish. The School Board Members as well as Volunteers sell after every Mass on the weekends. This is an all year round Program and the Funds go to assist in the next year’s tuition.

The SMD Program is divided into two categories. the Supermarket Dollar cards that we use to shop for food and the Scrip cards that we use to shop for any item other than food. Remember there are no additional service fees. A $25 card of your choice is worth $25 or a $100 card of your choice is worth $100. In either case, with your purchase you are supporting Catholic Education.

The SMD Program offers a selection of vendors and retailers that are used most often. Cards are available in a variety of dominations and are available for delivery within 24 to 48 hours of receipt of the order. Special orders will be filled within 5 business days.

For your convenience cards may be purchased through the Rectory, at Mass on the weekends, or through the new SMD order form.

As the 2007-2008 school year comes to a close, we would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all those who purchased cards through this Program. At this time, we would like to especially thank our Parishioners and the Sisters of Mercy who have been extremely supportive. Thank you, your participation is very much appreciated!
Our SUMMER SCHEDULE will begin on July 12, 2008. The SMD table, located in the lobby of the church, will be open every other weekend. The dates are as follows:
July 12th and 13th, July 26th and 27th, August 9th and 10th, and August 23rd and 24th.
*** The SMD table will be closed for the weekend of July 5th and 6th for the Holiday. ***
At this time, we would like to thank all our SMD volunteers for their commitment in helping us sell these cards after each Mass.

Please note, School families still participating in the SMD Profit Sharing Initiative must continue to complete a SMD Order Form when submitting an order. Blank order forms can be obtained at: the SMD table, the Rectory, or by downloading the Form from the school website. Since the school office is closed for the summer, school families can fill their SMD orders through these various ways:
* By bringing their Forms to the SMD table on the weekends
* By bringing their Forms to the Rectory
* By e-mailing the completed Forms to themacavoys@optonline.net .
If an order cannot be filled at the SMD table or at the Rectory then please direct it to Don or Allison MacAvoy to be processed. Thereafter, you will be contacted to determine delivery arrangements.
